Can't view video links when browsing the web

I recently had to reinstall windows XP due to a computer
upgrade. Since the new install I can't view video links
when browsing on the web. I click on the button to show
video and nothing happens. I can see at the bottom of the
screen that it's a Java thing that won't open. Anyone
have any ideas on how to cure this? I downloaded
Microsoft MV and Media 9 and still no luck. Thanks !
 
Download the Java Console from Sun
http://java.sun.com/
Right-click your browser icon, advanced tab, scroll down to Java and check the Java
(Sun) box. You will have to restart.
