Can't View Source

K

Kevin Grigorenko

Hello,

I'm sorry if this question has been answered, I didn't know where to do a
search on previous postings like I can search google groups. Anyway, I have
a few problems, first of all, my View Source option no longer works. I've
tried changing the Program associated with HTML Editting in the Internet
Options to all possible options (i.e. Notepad, Frontpage, TextPad, etc.),
and none of them work. What is the problem here?

Another question is that I have some kind of stupid page cl-search.com that
automatically searches when a URL is not found. I did a search in the
registry for the search URL and nothing could be found. Is there some .INI
file that holds this information?

Here is my info:

OS: Windows XP Professional, SP1
IE Version: 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633

Thanks a lot!

Kevin,
1. Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Options> General> Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the TIF folder be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

2. If you have a shortcut to Notepad.exe on the desktop, rename it.

3. Is notepad.exe undamaged and installed to the proper directory?
