Can't view some images on web pages

While using Internet Explorer 6, the images/pictures on some web pages do not
appear. There is no box with a red "x" in it as there usually is when a
picture can't be displayed. In fact there is nothing to notify me that
something is wrong or that there are images that can't be shown. The only
reason I know they are there is because I know the sites and using my work
computer I can see them. In fact I could see them with my home computer
until a couple weeks ago. if I move the curser over where the image should
be it does not change into a hand, so there is no "invisible" link.

ANy ideas on what could be causing this? How to fix?

Examples of web sites where I have problems:
1) http://www.cbc.ca/news/ [on this site I see the main news story's
image, but not the images below that normally show up in the beige boxes to
the right of the page & below the main story; I see the text in these boxes
and they are titles of stories such as "War Brides" , "Viewpoint/Analysis",
etc.]
2) http://www.ufc.com/ [on this site I only see the main banner at the
top, "UFC Official Web Site" and the links but I do not see any
images/pictures]

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Right, but according to Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=896727)
the 899102 hotfix is included in the 896727 update rollup, which I have
installed. So presumably this problem is not solved by 899102.

Maybe I'll also try to rollback the latest Microsoft updates I've made to
see if that solves it. Either that or I'll start using a different web
browser.

OK I installed a different web browser, Firefox, and I still have the same
problem so it is obviously bigger than just IE6.

I updated my Java and still the same problems.

I don't know what else to even look into, help!

Just a guess

Start | Run <type in>
cmd /K ipconfig /flushdns
<enter>
Has been known to work

OK my problem doesn't appear to be Windows or IE related. I turned off Zone
Alarm and the pages viewed correctly so it is a problem with Zone Alarm and
so I'll have to go to their forum & help section.
