can't view pictures in internet explorer

I can't view pictures in internet explorer. A red x sign appears where the
pictures are supposed to be.
 
Bernie, next time in IE select Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Scroll down
to Multimedia and make sure most of the boxes are checked especially Show
Pictures. Also, go to Security Tab and set all Zones to Default.

Control Panel, Internet Options. IN the Advanced page , Multimedia
section make sure 'Show pictures' is checked (at least)
