Can't view pages over a secure connection

I can't seem to view any pages over a secure connection,
e.g hotmail in the I.E 6 browser. Pages that contain a
security alert which says 'You are about to view pages over
a secure connection' follow with 'Page cannot be
displayed'. I tried to reinstall I.E 6 but the same thing
happens. Does anyone know what is up with it? I appreciate
any replies, Thanks.
