Can't view or add Favorites

My Favorites list is all of a sudden empty and I am not
able to add any new favorites. I use XP. My husband has
a login, I have one and then there is a guest login. His
and the guest login are not having this problem. Even
stranger is that all of my favorites are there in my
Favorites folder in Explorer. ??? Help?!
