Can't view directory properties

I am unable to view file properties or share files when I
right click on a directory and select either option. I
also cannot view the directory properties when I select
from Windows Explorer File -> Properties. Nothing pops
open to show me the details. Can anyone instruct me on
how to fix this? I'm stumped. I know the properties and
sharing must call thesame place because everything else
works fine.

Do you think you have lost your files? Go to search and
pull them up. The files will show they are in the right
place but not viewable FRIGGIN XP!

That isn't it, I can view and access the directories AOK,
its just when I want to view the properties of a directory
(folder) I am unable to do so. Can anyone help me fix
this? It's driving me nuts!
