can't use remote assistance

I went to help, remote assistance, invite someone to help you. Box pops up
saying my current system settings will not allow me to invite someone.

I ahve McAfee but am not using their firewall rather using windows firewall.
Turned off McAfee anyway AND windows firewall and I get the same message.

Also, I have XP not vista but when I clicked on XP help on this web site it
brought me to vista - real nice.

Yes, remote assistance is checked.

Press Windows key + Pause Break
On the System Properties dialogue, select Remote (tab) under 'Remote
Assistance' make sure that 'Turn on Remote Assistance and allow invitation
to be sent from this computer' is checked > OK.

Thanks. I checked that box but now the recipient cannot access my machine
for some reason. We have given up. Thanks for your help.

I don't know. The other guy actually knows what he is doing so I'd guess so.
We were trying to fix major problems with Word. Amazing how trying to fix
one thing becomes so complicated. Thanks for your help.
