Cant update or system restore

When I turn the pc on it says invalid bootfile....booting from windows.
I can use the computer as normal internet etc but when I try to do updates
its just a blank screen with Done at the bottom, same happens if I try to do
a system restore or go into Help and support.

How do I fix this problem?
Can anyone help?

Try these commands from Start, Run:

regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll

For the Boot.ini issue, try rebuilding the file using the Recovery console
command.
