cant start xp pro?

hi i cannot start my win xp pro o/s.when i turn the pc on i get a screen
(not safe mode)giving me 3 options start in safe mode/start with
networking/last known good configuration.i can select any option and
the pc will try and restart without success.If put the windows cd in
the drive it will not run or self start.the pc is not used for the web
but is used by my daughter for homework and to play music.according to
my daughter this problem just happend on its own when she powered it up
to do her homework this morning.hmmmm? is there any way i can get the pc
to boot. thanks mark
 
Try opening the computer (power cable unconnected) and reseating the cards
and cable connections. Avoid touching any chips but use the card edges to
rock them firmly into place. If the problem persists, it may well be a
hardware issue that a technician should look at.
