I am not able to start the task scheduler. This is prohibiting me from scheduling automatic updates for Norton SAVCE.
Below is the message I receive when running sc query schedule

SERVICE_NAME: schedule
TYPE : 120 WIN32_SHARE_PROCESS (interactive)
STATE : 1 STOPPED
(NOT_STOPPABLE,NOT_PAUSABLE,IGNORES_SHUTDOWN)
WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 5 (0x5)
SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
CHECKPOINT : 0x0
WAIT_HINT : 0x0

Below is the message in Event Viewer:

The Task Scheduler service terminated with the following error:
Access is denied.

The Task Scheduler will not work unless you are using a User Profile that
has a password associated with it.

It's also possible that Norton didn't recognize your password, this is especially true if you have switched networks (it took me a while to figure this out at school). For scheduled systems scans, you should be able to set the password by opening the properties of each task from the scheduled task manager. If it seems like you can't do this, erase the task and set it again, then add a password.
Hope this helps
