can't sort the start menu

Hi,

In win2k it was possible to sort the start menu by right-clicking on it and
selecting 'sort by name'

in winxp I have changed to 'classic' style start menu and now I don't get
any menu by right-clicking on a start menu item, though I do when I switch
to the new style.

any ideas?

The menu is available regardless of which style you use. Try doing a system
file check. Start-- run--type in sfc /scannow.
Note space after c.

I found the solution

in start menu properties click customize, then there is a setting called
"enable dragging and dropping" - if you disable D&D it also disables the
right-click.

Right click the Start button | Properties | Start Menu tab |
Customize button | Check: Enable dragging and dropping |
OK | Apply | OK
