Can't shut down Win2000

Strange but true, when I tried to run a shut down today, or even a restart, after
hitting Start/Shutdown or Start/Restart, nothing happened. I tried 10 times and it just
wouldn't shut down. Had to hit the kill button to get it to Restart. Does anyone know
why this happens and how to fix the problem.

run the following - the first to prevent more trouble the second to find out
what is wrong. Better still use them in reverse- stinger first.
