can't shut computer down

I installed windows 2000 professional about 2 weeks ago
and everything was working great. Now all of a sudden
today when I went to shut the computer down I received a
message that I don't have permission to shut down. I've
gone in and checked all my settings and have no clue why
all of a sudden this has occured. I'm able to log my self
off/on but can't shut down. Any suggestions??

Check the user rights assignments in Local Security Policy/security settings/local
policies if you already have not. There is one there on who is allowed to shut down
the system. If that looks right, double check that you are actually logged on as an
account in the allowed groups. --- Steve
