cant send/recieve

I re-installed Outlook 2002 Operating XP Home, new hard
drive.. I added my account, all the tests come back O.K.
When I click on send/recieve I get "Operation Failed" I
can send messages, but apparently not recieve. I know the
set up is correct, because it works in Outlook Express.

Help!
