After having computer Windows Media Player problems, I had to perform a
System Restore. Now I'm not able to send or receive any emails. My message is
"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'mail.nebnet.net', Server: 'mail.nebnet.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure (SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053:0X800CCOF. I remember
having problems before with my outgoing and incoming mail server addresses,
but don't know how to check these or correct these. I do have McAfee, but had
it before my system restore and my email worked fine.

Hello jsgal,

I have exactly the same problem with the e-mail client outlook express. I
don't know whether you have solved the problem or not. If you have, can you
please tell me how?

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.

If that doesn't fix it post back with the complete error message.

Thanks for your reply but it still does't work after all the antivirus
protection is disabled.

If it was Norton or McAfee it may have damaged the account. Remove the
account, close and reopen WinMail and re-enter the account.

Outlook Express doesn't work under Vista.
