SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
I am not using Norton etc...just have firewall and standard security on.
Anyone's help we be greatly appreciated.

Are you connecting to the internet via an Orange connection?

Thanks for replying, No, connecting via Tiscalli

Sorry for the delay, cleaning the cooker :))

Use smtp.tiscali.co.uk instead of smtp.orangehome.co.uk

At tools>accounts>select the orange account>properties>server tab>outgoing
SMTP server>apply/ok

Now try sending.

Andy, I have the same problem. I'll copy the error message and maybe we'll
both get an answer...
The host 'pop.verizon.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have
entered the server name correctly.
Account: 'pop.verizon.com', Server: 'pop.verizon.com', Protocol: POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

You don't have the same problem. You have the wrong name for your
incoming (POP3) server. Change pop.verizon.com to incoming.verizon.net.
