Can't send emails

KRice

This is the error message I get when I try to send emails.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was Subject 'Re: hi', Account: 'Mail', Server:
'smtp.centurytel.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 Relaying
denied: You must check for new mail before sending mail.', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Does your connection to that server cross over from one internet provider's
equipment to another's before it reaches the server? If so, such
connections
to port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for spammers. However,
this error message suggests that you may be able to get around any such
blockage for at least a short time by clicking on the triangle next to
Send/Receive, then Receive All, then the triangle again, then Send All.

See if this offers any help:
