Can't send email

W

WhiteTea77581

I can receive email but when I try to send mail,
I get the error message below.

I have the correct incoming and outgoing settings.

Can someone help?

Thanks.

Message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server
smtpauth.peoplepc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is
refusing SMTP connections. Please very that your SMTP server setting
is correct and try again.

Have you double-checked your ISP's recommended settings in your mail
program's account settings? Or maybe the server IS unavailable.

First, you shouldn't have included your real email address when posting
in this newsgroup. It's an invitation to be spammed.

Second, if you're *certain* that your email client (which you have not
identified) is configured with your correct email address and
corresponding password, the most likely reason for this message is that
you are attempting to use the SMTP server from your ISP (peoplepc.com)
but you are connected to the Internet using a different ISP. For quite
a number of years, most reputable ISPs block access to their SMTP server
from users who are not actually connected using their own servers.

If the preceding paragraph doesn't apply to you, call your ISP's tech
support.

And the Mail Client you're using is...?

Is this a sudden, new problem?

Are you certain your low-cost dial-up subscription includes POP3 access to
your (e-mail address removed) account?

Has it ever worked?

Did you 'go to the "Servers" section. Check the box next to "My server
requires authentication".'?

Did you 'Next, go to the "Advanced" section. Where it says "Outgoing
mail (SMTP):" change the number to 587.'?

I got the problem fixed.

I had to put in my full email address for the user name.

See previous post for what the problem was.

I used the PrintScreen button and MSPaint to make pics of all the
server
settings so I restore quicker. :)

Who are you and what have you done to WhiteTea77581?

I took Lem's advice on his last post.

Nothing happened to White Tea.

I still drink "white tea."
Chocolate mint is my favorite ice cream.

:)

P.S.

I read the Overview for SP3.

I am looking for a paper with a lot more details about what SP3 has in
the package.
