I am using Outlook 2003 running on Win XP.

For some reason I can't send any email with attachments.

ANy Ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

What happens when you try to send an email with an attachment? Is there an
error message of any sort?

Yes it times out with the error below. I have several accounts at
different ISP's and they all time out!

Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0B) : 'Unknown Error 0x800CCC0B'

Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out
waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'

In the properties of your account, did you check the box for SPA (secure
password authentication)? Uncheck it and try again.

I found the problem!! It was Trend AV scanning the attachment before
it would send. This caused Outlook to timeout.

If you read through the Outlook newsgroups, you'll see the recommendation to
configure AV not to integrate with Outlook repeated many times. It won't
compromise your security to do this since your real time scanner will catch
qanything it's been updated for.
