can't send email via Outlook after hibernate

I have a new Inspiron E1705 notebook. After coming out of hibernation, I
cannot send email via Outlook. I have an internet connection and I can
receive email via Outlook, just can't send it. I have disabled my antivirus
software (Norton) to ensure that wasn't causing a problem. The error I get
is the generic "can't connect to outgoing server". However, if I reboot the
computer, then I can send email immediately.

I've already went through steps outlined on Microsoft's support site, but I
still continue to get the problem after hibernating.

Anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?

is outlook open when you hibernate? do you get the same error if you close
outlook then hibernate?

I also have the same problem. Is this a known issue with Outlook?

I often just leave Outlook running when I close the laptop screen to put it
into standby/hibernate. But then when I resume, I have to restart Outlook
before it will send/receive again.

Is there any other information on this scenario - this was the only post I
found.

Thanks, Ross.
