Can't send email after (digitally) Signing it.

I upgraded from Win XP home to Vista Premium in my home, this is just for
personal use. I can no longer digitally sign and encrypt my email messages as
I was able to do when using Win XP. I receive the following message;

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows Mail

"To send a signed or encrypted message you must first obtain a digital ID
for this account"

Get ID Cancel
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I'm assuming a "Digital ID: is the same thing as a "Certificate" with
associated "Keys". I already have a couple of "certificates and keys" so I am
not able to download them again...the certificate store ( Comodo) recognizes
my email address and won't issue another certificate.

I have searched and searched for information/directions on how to
re-establish my encryption capibalities (concidering I already have
certificates) but have had no luck...can anyone help with some step by step
directions?

Thanks for any help

Did you associate your digital ID with the email account already? Maybe
that's the missing step. Go to <Tools/Accounts> and look at the properties
of the email account you have a certificate for (note that the email
address has to match *exactly* what is in the certificate). In the
properties switch to the Security tab, where you can choose certificates
for signing and encrypting. You are presented with a choice of all
certificates installed on your machine that match the email address of
the acccount and are valid (not expired). HTH
