I just installed Outlook 2002 on my new Computer(XP).
It worked just fine on my old one. I can received email
but cannot send. My incoming mail server(POP3)and out
going server(SMTP)are set just like my settings on my old
computer(98)which worked fine. When I try the "test
Settings" in the e-mail account setup, I get the
following error message: "Send e-mail message Failed".

Appreciate your help.

John

What error message do you get if you actually try to send the mail (rather
than using the "test settings" button)?

I get the following error message:
"Task 'SBC Yahoo!mail-gg1212-Sending and Receiving"
reported error (0x800CCC18);'Your e-mail server rejected
your login with Secure Password Authentication. Verify
your account properties, Under Tools, Click E-mail
Accounts'

You need to uncheck the "Use Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" box on
your account dialog - Yahoo does not support this.
