Can't select Scan Source - Trust Scanner

Davy

Hi
I have a Trust 240th Direct Webscan Gold scanner, funny thing is i
works OK, but it won't let me select either negative or positive i
the 'Scan Source'

It's seems to be stuck in the reflective mode, this is OK for text an
photos but not transparencies, film negatives or film positives

Tried re-install and tried removing it's Twain folder but still won'
let me get out of the reflective scanning mode

The top light kicks up momentarily when I connect the power lead, s
it ain't the light and the 'TA' sockets intact

Anyone can help I would highly appreciate, thank

Seriously look at the cable connection between the lid (light source) and
the main body of the scanner.

That cable has a jumper inside that tells the scanner and software that the
Transparency adapter is present.

Wiggle the connector! Even unplug it and then plug it back in.

Thanks for the suggestion, afraid it didn't solve it, I've a feelin
it's a little more involved, knowing my luck..

You are quite right, it was the yellow sensor lead which had broke
somewhere along the wire, thewires to the TA plug and the PC
connector was intact.

Problem was caused by a broken sensor wire in the TA (Tranasparanc
Adapter) lead, due to opening and shutting I guess

The connections are as follows-
Looking into the TA socket at the pins, the bottom left is the blac
wire (Ground) this goes to the middle pin of the PCB connector in th
top cover

The second one up from the left is the Yellow (Sensor) wire which goe
to the left of the PCB connecor

The bottom right pin is the Red wire (+ve Supply) this goes to th
right of the PCB connector

The second pin up from the bottom right is not used

Trust scanners are made by Mustek for further reading see-
http://www.meier-geinitz.de/sane/mustek-backend/#other here you wil
find the latest driver updates and known glitches

Many thanks
