Can't see XP machine in workgroup

I have a Windows 2000 professional laptop connected to a
Windows XP Home Edition desktop via a crossover cable.
The 2000 pro maching can see the XP machine in the network
neighborhood but the XP machine doesn't see the 2000 pro
machine.

Can anyone explain this to me?

Do you have Internet Connection Firewall enabled on the
XP machine, or on either for that matter? If so, try to
disable....if it works then vuala!! If this didn't work,
try to do windows updates on both machines.
