Can't See Contacts Email Address When Click To: Box

When I create a new email in Outlook 2007 and click the To: box to choose a
contact's email address I can't see my contacts email addresses.

In the Address Book field on the right of the Select Names box I've got a
choice of Contacts, Business Contacts, Accounts and Outlook Address Book but
none of these displays anything. Entering a name in the Search field also
doesn't produce anythting.

I transferred my email, contacts, etc from Outlook 2003 by exporting the
Inbox, Cent Items, Contacts, etc as individual .PST files and then importing
them in to Outlook 2007.

(The emails aren't being indexed either but I will raise a separate question
about this.)

I've just brought up Outlook 2007 and have the same problem Dell Boy had. I
followed the instructions in 287563 and added Oulook Address Book, Type MAPI.
However, nothing changed. The contacts are in Outlook.

Also, my contacts are organized by category with names. It seems that
Outlook 2007 wants to use colors and doesn't allow me to manage Category
Names. Is that correct?

Thanks,

We'd need a more accurate description of your problem. You've left us with
too much guesswork. When you say "nothing changed" what exactly do you mean?
What was supposed to change that didn't and what isn't working the way you
think it should? It would also be helpful if you provided information on how
you configured Outlook 2007 and migrated your data to it.

After installing Office 2007 I restored the Outlook .pst file saved from
Outlook 2003. The Contacts are accessable.

From the message on this forum I followed the instructions and "Added' the
Outlook Address Book which is a MAPI type file. However, nothing changed
meaning when I try to send a message and select To:----

Oops, it works now. Apparentlyly it took some time to configure, or
something.

Thanks,

I am having the same issue in Outlook 2007. I can't see email addresses when
I click the To: button in a new email. I checked my Account Settings and my
Outlook Address Book is entered correctly as a MAPI type and in the Contact
Folder Properties on the Outlook Address Tab the "Show this folder as an
email address book" is grayed out but the check box is checked and "Contacts"
is in the name field. All this seems to be correct.

I exported my contacts from Outlook 2003 and imported them into Outlook 2007.

Any ideas?

There you have the answer. This is why there are constant posts in the
Outlook groups telling people NOT to use the import/export function to
transfer Outlook data.
You probably have corrupted your Mail profile by importing contacts.
Go to Control Panel-Mail-Show Profiles and create a new one. Add the
existing pst file to that profile and see if that helps.
