Cant search pdf files in Windows 2000

Hello. I have a windows 2000 professional machine. When I use keywords to
search through certain pdf filesthe search does not pick up the keywords even
though the words are in the pdf file. However, if I search a text file or a
MS Word file Windows 2000 finds the keywords with no problem. Also, if I
search using the serach feature within adobe reader the software finds the
words with no problem. Is there a reason why Windows 2000 would not find
keywords in certain pdf files and it would find it in others? Thanks in
advance for any help you can offer.

Nothing wrong with W2K - a PDF is a compressed print stream output of
an application (word, excel etc) munched and crunched with PDF
formatting to minimize the document size for saving on disk and
sending on the network.

Try looking at the actual PDF data. go to the file and
right_click|send_to|notepad (or wordpad). If you can't eyeball scan
the character string you're searching for - neither can W2K :)
