I've been testing the possible issues involved with people getting the standard error message about location, files and disk space, when they try to save a movie, regardless of how simple the movie is.
I can reproduce the problem by replacing my version 9 QASF.DLL file with a version 6.5 one. The version 6.5 one lets me import a version 9 WMV, preview it, and use it in the timeline. But, if I put just one JPG image on the timeline (or anything else) and try to save a movie, it'll work fine to a DV-AVI format, but give me the standard error message when trying to save to WMV.
My version 9 QASF.DLL file is 241,644 bytes, dated 12/11/02. My version 6.5 file is 173,056 bytes and dated 12/12/02 (one day newer).
I'd like to know what versions you have of the QASF.DLL file. It's in the c:\Windows\System32 folder.
Thanks,
PapaJohn
