can't save movie files - CPU usage drains to ZERO?

I've got a massive movie, about 600MB, and I've tried a few combos of
splitting it in half & using lower quality redering, but all attempt seem to
stall at about 5% complete. The CPU actually stops (when I check the task
manager), and thge time remaining counter keep climbing to 1200+ minutes, ( I
just abort at that point).

Should i just wait it out?
or,
Is this a CPU overheating issue, should I lower priority or define new
memory limits somewhere?

any ideas?

thanks

i'll make another attempt and write down these values, back in 1/2 hour...

tried again anyway, these where the figures while it attempted to save to
movie, after 3 minutes or so the fan came on (sounded let it was about to
take off!) worked for another couple of minutes then CPU went down to zero,
and time remaining counter went through the roof.

Committ Charge
Total 1021890
Limit 1279172
Peak 1048388

thanks

Looks like your memory is OK.... if you suspect it overheating, it can't
hurt to try it again,

if it's a laptop put it in the refrig or bring it here to Michigan and put
it outdoors... if a desktop put a fan in front of it...
