can't save downloads

For some unknown reason lately I cannot save any downloads to my computer. I
do not get an blocked popup prompts or any error message for that matter but
after acting like its downloading I do not see the file saved anywhere on my
computer.
IT seems no tto matter whether it s afile or application etc. The only
virus software I am using is the wondows defender.
 
have you tried a disk cleanup

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cleanmgr.exe

maybe your temp files are full?

or is the disk full?
