When I boot up XP I get this messge.
"can't run 16-bit windows program"
Does anyone know how to fix?
It sounds like you have an older program starting with Windows. Begin
your Sherlocking by using the System Configuration tool to see what is
starting with Windows and stopping unnecessary programs. Go to
Start>Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes. Look on the Startup
tab. Uncheck the boxes next to programs that shouldn't be starting.
Here is a link to a site where you can look up the names of the items
you find:

Of course, although this may not be related, you also should be
practising Safe Hex by a) running a current antivirus using updated
definitions; b) using a firewall; c) keeping your operating system
patched by regularly visiting Windows Update; d) removing spyware
regularly.
