Can't rotate pictures

A quick question - I'm currently unable to rotate a picture while viewing a
filmstrip of the contents of My Pictures. A while back I was able, but now
not! I'm not sure if a pop-up was inadvertently clicked which changed
something. I can click "edit" and then manually rotate it and then save it
and all is fine - but that's labour intensive.
Any ideas?? help!!
thanks,
Dug.

Hi Dug,

Type REGSVR32 /i SHIMGVW.DLL in Start/Run dialog. If that does not help, try
this tip:

Right-click the image and Preview it. Now, press and hold down the CTRL key
and close Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer. You'll see a message stating the following:

Here's a simple fix you can try:

If you previously checked "In the future do not
show me this dialog box" when a dialog warned
about the possibility of reducing the quality of
your images, the following fix may restore your
option to rotate.

Open a picture in the Windows Picture And Fax
Viewer. Hold down the Ctrl key and left click the
X in the top right corner of the window.

If that did not restore your option to rotate...

Try this:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

I have tried all of the things that you said to try but none of them have
worked. It is only in the newest folder that I have opened and downloaded
that this is happening. All of my other pictures rotate...just not the one
folder. Don't understand why????

Have you tried creating a new folder
and move/copy all the files into it?
