Can't Restore Files from a Different Vista computer

Hello,

I cannot seem to restore files from my Vista laptop onto my Vista Desktop.
I go to Windows Backup and Restore/Advance Restore and then Files from a
backup made on another computer. These backup files are on my External Hard
Drive.

I then select the external Hard drive and Vista sees the backups but for
"backup location" it indicates: "Backup location not available". I just
want to save these files from the external drive and put them on my new
desktop Vista Computer. The laptop Vista computer crashed and is gone.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

The edition of Vista must be same, in addition to the same platform ( 32 and
32 bit).
