Can't remove old printer driver

Installation program for new Canon MP760 multifunction printer aborts when
it finds old driver (for Canon Multipass C3500 printer) I've done all I can
think of to remove old driver including a registry cleaning program and
searching for any remaining canon files and manually deleting the old ones
(new ones being recognized by date). Any ideas?
 
Have you tried going into the device driver box, locating the old printer
driver and select uninstall?
