I have been having a problem installing a scanner in win XP and I have tried
doing it a few times. Now when I go into Device Manager and click under
Image, it shows 6 yellow question marks. I clicked on each and tried
uninstalling but i keep getting the same message that says it cannot be
removed because it might be needed in the boot process.
Is ther any way I can get rid of all these extra question marks I dont
need?

Thanks
Chris

Phsically remove the scanner from the computer (unplug the leads) and
re-boot. Go into Device Manager and delete the problem devices.

Re-boot, go into Device Manager and see what's there now ...

Further help would depend upon what scanner, what connection, what drivers
you use, how you used them and indeed a whole shed-load of information from
you that isn't as vague as your post above ..
