I can't receive email. I get an error message:

-- The connection to the server has failed. Account:
'mail.alternativedieselperformance.com', Server:
'mail.alternativedieselperformance.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I'm using the same settings that I have with Outlook Express on our other LT
using windows XP. I can send emails

Thank you,

Terry LaBombard

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant
layer of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving,
and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting
changes and has even been responsible for loss of messages. Your
up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For
more, see:

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email

Note that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the
program and reinstall in Custom Mode and uncheck e-mail scanning when the
option arises.

I uninstalled Norton Security Suite and still cannot send mail.
It is a new Windows Vista 64bit computer I am just setting up.
I can receive email just fine, but can't send.
I added the program to the Windows Firewall exceptions
Roadrunner Technical Support had me email from their web interface, and that
worked fine.

Here is my error message:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'another test',
Account: 'Roadrunner', Server: 'smtp-server.nyc.rr.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '451 4.1.8 - Domain of sender address (e-mail address removed) does
not accept inbound mail [R0307001]', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Please start your own thread in the future. The OP can't receive. You
can't send. Not even close to the same issue.

The domain in your address is: ny.rr.com

The SMTP setting in the error message is: smtp-server.nyc.rr.com

It looks to me that the "c" should either be added to your address, or
removed from your account settings. It appears to me that something in
your account settings is wrong.
