I've been working on this all day but no luck so far. I have Vista
Home Premium on my new laptop and Windows XP Home Edition on my
desktop. I use comcast.net for one of my email accounts. I've
downloaded the settings from my XP to my laptop using easy transfer.
I can send mail from my laptop using this account. However, I can not
receive any mail here. I use a hotmail account to send test messages
to my comcast account. I've set up the email on both computers to
leave a copy on the server for the time being. The desktop with XP
and McAfee has no problem receiving the messages. In reading comments
here, I've removed McAfee from the laptop and installed AVAST. It
hasn't helped. I've checked the settings numerous times and have
actually re-entered them a couple of times. At times I have noticed
that "receiving mail" appears very, very briefly but then goes to "no
new messages." I NEVER get any error messages. Any help would be
appreciated.
