cant read emails in Outlook Express

Nothing appears in the preview pane and the event timer continues to run as
if it is trying to download something that isnt their. I receive new
message, subject matter is described and when I move the mouse into the
preview pane, or double click and open the message, the event timer
continues to run and I cannot read any subject matter in the body of the
email. This holds true now for all my emails, even previously read, sent, or
otherwise. HELP please.....

Please answer as I can click on properties and then details and then message
source and find your reply in with the rest of the encryption data.
