I have a Dell with a Roxio CD burner. I copied files to a blank CD-RW (after
I formatted it) but when I put the CD and another PC that CD player doesn't
even know there is a CD in the the drive.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Hi,

Is the other computer's CD ROM an older model?
Have you tried any other CD-RW's to see if that CD drive can read CD-RW's?

Hi Gary,

Yes, both of the other computer's are older.
I don't have any other CD burner to try burning another CD-RW to see it they
can read them.

What do you suggest?

Thanks

You should also check to see if Roxio easy cd burner (the
actual software is setup to close the cd after burning
cause if it isn't it wont work in every cd drive only
ones with roxio easy cd burner software same as your).
Goodluck though I know it can get frustrating

The other computer must also have Drag to Disk or another packet writing
application to read the CD.
You can also choose to make the CD readable in other computers when you
eject the CD.

What error message do you get when you double click the CD icon in My
Computer?

If you formatted it you are using Roxio's Direct CD/Drag to Disk 'packet
writing'. Unless the other machine already has this in a compatible
version it will not read it. Two choices: in The Direct CD 'Finalise'
the disk to read on other machines; or get the UDF Volume reader from
http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/software_updatesv5.jhtml
(bottom of page) and put it on the 'reading' machine
