Can't re-connect or map drives?

Hi,

My domain account is added to the Administrator's group of our Windows 2000
dev server. I even setup a share to "Everyone" but when I try to map to
this folder from my XP machine I keep getting prompted to login when using my
domain account.

Also, when trying to view a drive that is already mapped to this share, I get:

"An error occurred while reconnecting drive letter to \\network server\share
folder.
Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use.
This connection has not been restored. "

I tried Q317021 and no luck. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Dave.

Dave,
You said your domain account is added to the Administrator's group.Try
this, add you account to the DOMAIN ADMIN GROUP. Should not prompt you then.

I'm a developer and this is development machine. I'm added to the
Administrator group on that machine only.. I don't think I'll be allowed to
be added to that group.

Is there a way for me to determine *why* my authentication is failing? When
I search for computers, find the server and I click on it, I get prompted
over and over but I don't know why its not authenticating me.

I can connect to this server using Remote Desktop OK though using the same
domain account and password.
