can't purge all addresses\residual address won't clear

I've tried several times to purge the address bar but
about 10 addresses won't purge. Any recommendations other
than the typical, TOOLS\INTERNET OPTIONS\CLEAR HISTORY?

Mike,
Possibly your History folder is corrupt:
[XP\2K]
Log on as Administrator and delete the desired <username> folder(s).
[example]
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\HISTORY"
