Can't print Speaker's notes

Have tried on several systems, I get the message 'powerpoint has encountered
a problem and will have to shut down' , et cetera. Any ideas?
 
Do you have a LOCAL printer driver on your system? Not having this can cause
problems.
 
I'm not sure I understand what having a LOCAL printer driver means. I have
never had a problem printing anything from powerpoint before...
