can't preview movie

My computer crashed and I was given the new version of
movie maker which I can't stand at all! I can't work it
like I used to with the previous version. I copied the
old files from a different computer but now it won't
preview the movie, it is just a blank screen for pictures
but I can view imported videos. Also some of the video
effects are missing. Any ideas?

Lauren,

Maybe missing effects would have been from add-in packages which aren't on
your new computer.

If you want to use version 1, or use both versions 1 and 2 on the new

This did not work, I cannot do a system restore because
my computer crashed. They sent it back to me with MM2
instead of 1. Now when I transfered all the files from a
friends computer it won't let me preview the movie at
all. There aren't all the video effects options listed
(even though they appear on her computer) What is the
deal?
