Can't play movie

I have an mpeg file on disc that was sent to me and I
need for a meeting that won't play. It says it
is "connecting to codec server" and then "requesting
codec information". When it doesn't find it gives me an
error message " Windows media player encountered an
unknown error."

What's up?
 
Try downloading wmp9 series encoder,also get the codec
installation package.
