Can't Ping unless in safe mode.

I have an XP Pro (SP2) machine that will not respond to ping or any inbound
data requests. It can access the Internet and network assets fine, but
nothing can access it. In safe mode ping works fine. All firewalls are
turned off. Any ideas on where to look or how to get this working again.

Thanks

You said "All firewalls are turned off." Does the computer have more
than one firewall? Running more than one firewall is very likely to
cause problems.

Even if there's only one firewall, it could be causing the problem.
The only way to know for sure is to un-install the firewall. Just
turning it off might not be enough.

Steve,

Currently only the Windows firewall is running on the machine and it is
disabled. All other firewall programs have been removed.
