Can't ping Name

Today I ran into this problem:

I can ping the IP-Address of Google.com,
but I can't ping the name.
What could be my problem?

What are your DNS settings when you run an ipconfig?

For some reason your DNS server doesn't appear to be
resolving the common name.

I solved the problem, my DNS was temp. offline.
