Can't "Open Web" from FP now with Windows Vista

Hello Frontpage Gurus!

I just got a new HP computer with Windows Vista and FP 2000 will not connect
to any servers. I have tried to "Open Web" using http://www.mydomain.com and
ftp://ftp.mydomain.com and neither will work as they did with Windows XP.
I've tried everything I can think of to figure out the problem.

Any suggestions as to why I can't "Open Web" directly from Frontpage like
before? Extensions have been installed on the server. I'm baffled. HP
support could not provide any assistance. I can open and connect to FTP via
Internet Explorer but nothing through FP directly. Any help would be much
appreciated!!!

I've read here that Vista's IIS 7 does not support the FrontPage Server
Extensions. Can someone please explain in more detail about the Extensions
issue and what I need to do to get up and running. Does that mean that we can
no longer edit pages in FP and publish in real time? Thank you so much for
your help! I have no where else to turn! :(

Pulling my hair out, Teilah

I doubt your host is running your site under IIS7. What is the real URL of
your site?

I have several sites hosted with Go Daddy.

One Url is www.dreamyaffairs.com

Can you explain the details regarding IIS7 and is that something that Go
Daddy can provide? Thank you so much for your help! :)

Your host is running your site on a Windows 2003 Server under IIS6
- Your personal OS has nothing to do with your host OS

O.K. - so what do I have to do in order to be able to "Open Web" from
FrontPage 2000 now that I have Windows Vista. That's my problem. I can no
longer open, edit or create webpages using FP now that I have Vista. My web
files are hosted with Go Daddy. It was very simple with XP. Can anyone offer
some clear instructions on how to solve this issue or must I abandon
FrontPage completely? I've posted on several threads and it seems pretty
hopeless.

Check the Vista firewall that FrontPage is allowed access to the internet.
- for help in how to do that ask in a Vista Newsgroup
