Can't open .pps in Windows mail

Unable to open .pps attachments since I installed IE8. Had no problem before
this. Please help. Error message suggests turning off anti-virus but that
didn't work. Am using Trend Micro anti-virus.

I can't tell if this is the IE8 attachment issue or the PPS attachment issue,
so here are both fixes:
First, try this fix:

If no improvement, uninstall IE8, which reverts you back to IE7.
Follow these instructions:

Instead of uninstalling IE8, another option is to upgrade
your email program to Windows Live Mail:
http://download.live.com/wlmail

I tried all the repairs mentioned. No luck. Just makes me mad as hell at MS.
They are in such a hurry to introduce windows 7 yet they can't fix the crap
they already sold us. No wonder this economy is going up the river. Greed
prevails.

hijacking someone else's thread. State you IE version in your first post.

Chuck, I don't see a detailed problem statement from you in this thread.
Don't just assume that fixes recommended to others apply to your exact problem.
