cant open pp3 with internet film (on cd) on earlier powerpoint

hi, have just completed a presentation using powerpoint v3 and onto it had
downloaded a film clip from the internet. when the presentation was reviewed
on my computer (i have xp) it all worked perfectly. I burned the
presentation file onto a cd. At college, i was able to open up the
presentation file but when i clicked on to the slide with the film - it
wouldnt work - the college has an earlier version of windows, so im not sure
how to remedy this - please help

Which version are you referring to, if you write "v3"? (PowerPoint 3 for
Windows was issued some 20 years ago - you can't be still using that?)

If you want to insert a film, FIRST copy it to the same folder as the
presentation, THEN insert it, and burn BOTH files to the CD. Films are only
linked to presentations, not really embedded.
