I wanted to delete a no-longer-accessible work account that ran through
exchange server and required a log on with passowrd. I couldn't seem to
delete the account (kept resorting to "Outlook not responding") so I deleted
the name of the mail server and my name. Now, when I open Outlook, I am
still asked to log on. Since my username/password no longer work, when I
can't log on, Outlook shuts down. I can't access any menus to modify the
account. Please help!

Go to control panel | mail, and create a brand-new-from-scratch profile for
yourself.....or try modifying the existing profile therein to make sure it
has what you expect. Note that if you had Exchange and Internet mail, with
mail being delivered to your Exchange mailbox, you won't be able to access
it any longer, even via its OST /offline/cache file....that file is linked
to your Exchange account/mailbox.
